Installment #2 of our East Bay Regional Parks adventures! This one was less of a hike, more of a stroll…there aren’t really any hills at the section of Tilden Park that we visited. Alex’s love for the Berkeley Botanical Gardens is no secret, so we stopped over there first. We have annual passes for the year, and it has been well worth the price! You get reciprocal membership to a ton of gardens in California, and we get to visit the Botanical Garden whenever we want.
Anyway, back to this visit…right as we got out of the car, it started hailing…good start to the day, right? We had a mini-picnic (during which I stood for half of the time before finally spreading out a napkin over part of the wet bench) in the Redwood Grove, went into the garden to buy some plants, and then drove over to Tilden, which is just around the corner.
Over at Tilden we discovered another little nursery – of course we stopped and walked around because Alex is addicted to buying plants. 🙂
Tilden Park has another botanical garden attached to it, and I wish it hadn’t been so cold that day because we didn’t spend too much time walking around. But that just means we’ll have to go back! Due to the wind, we drove rather than walked down to the other end of the park and found the little farm. Super cute and highly recommend a visit! There were kids feeding the cows and pigs, and lots of chickens and bunnies. Even without kids it was a fun time for us.
This seems like a really pretty area to go back to in the spring time when it’s NOT rainy and cold. 🙂 Are you looking for engagement sessions in a beautiful garden setting like this one? Contact me and let’s talk, I’d be happy to meet up with you at Tilden!
