Back at the Palm Event Center in Pleasanton! I have to say, aside from its beautiful location and the fact that it’s five minutes away from home, I love shooting here because the staff is SO helpful. I walked into the “vendor area” to find it stocked with water bottles, Cliff bars, printed timelines of the day, and places already set up for us to eat that night. If that’s how they treat the hired help, what a pleasant experience it must be to be a bride and groom there with the level of detail they put into everything! (No, they didn’t pay me to say that!)
Chris and Danielle’s wedding on June 23 happened to be on a hot sunny day, but that just makes the sunset photo time all that much nicer, right? Luckily they got to spend most of the afternoon inside getting ready hanging out with the bridal party until the ceremony at 5. My favorite part of their ceremony was watching Danielle’s father walk her down the aisle. Their family rented a special wheelchair for the day that allowed him to be raised into a standing position. What a special moment for both him and Danielle.
And finally, the best part of the night as a photographer – portrait time! 😉 We took a break from the party to go back outside just in time for sunset. Of course we spent some time with the palm trees in the background, walking through the vineyards (much fuller than last time I was there!), and then went back to the ceremony site for some photos under the arch. But my favorite photos of the night are the ones walking down what I’ve dubbed the “pathway of greenery”…it’s almost enough to make me reconsider cutting down those massive trees in our front yard because apparently junipers can be beautiful after all – who knew?
